Position Summary: Remote Student Success Coach

The Student Success Coach at arenaflex is a customer-focused, education-minded professional responsible for supporting students throughout their academic program. Working remotely from a dedicated home office, you will serve as a trusted mentor, motivator, and resource liaison for a group of assigned students. Your primary responsibility is to coach students through the challenges of higher education, empower them to develop lifelong learning skills, and ensure they have a quality educational experience from enrollment through graduation.

This role requires frequent phone-based communication as well as responsiveness to inquiries submitted through internal systems. Coaches are expected to maintain a high level of engagement with each student in their caseload, conducting proactive outreach, providing encouragement during difficult moments, and connecting students with the appropriate resources across various departments within arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support enrollment, student development, and retention services while ensuring each learner has a meaningful, high-quality educational experience with arenaflex.
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned students and guide each one through their degree program by providing consistent, proactive, and timely outreach throughout their academic journey.
  • Encourage and support students through daily and weekly outreach as they develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary for academic success.
  • Provide a trusted, confidential environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and personal interests without judgment.
  • Introduce students to a wide range of academic and personal resources, teaching them how to effectively use these tools to maximize their success.
  • Become a certified resume reviewer to provide resume writing and career development support to students as they prepare for life after graduation.
  • Serve as a key liaison for students, connecting them with the appropriate departments within arenaflex to ensure seamless support and resolution of their needs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student interactions, progress notes, and outreach efforts using internal systems and tools.
  • Stay current on academic policies, procedures, and program offerings to provide accurate and helpful guidance to all students.
  • Demonstrate a consistent customer service focus in every interaction, treating each student interaction as an opportunity to make a positive impact.

Essential Qualifications

To thrive as a Student Success Coach at arenaflex, candidates must bring a combination of educational background, professional experience, and personal attributes that align with our student-centered mission.

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or an international equivalent, is required.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in academic advising, admissions support, customer service, human resources, counseling, or a related field is essential.
  • Academic Knowledge: Familiarity with academic policies, procedures, and the structure of higher education programs is highly valued.
  • Technical Agility: The ability to learn new technical skills and software platforms quickly is critical in our fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening abilities, and a pleasant, professional phone manner are non-negotiable.
  • Customer Focus: A strong customer service orientation and meticulous attention to detail in every interaction.

Preferred Competencies and Skills

  • Prior experience in a remote work or virtual coaching environment.
  • Background in education, counseling, social work, or behavioral coaching.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including non-traditional and adult learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and inspire others toward personal and professional growth.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload of students effectively.
  • Comfort with phone-based engagement as the primary mode of communication.

Work Schedule and Remote Environment

This is a fully remote, work-from-home position that requires a quiet, dedicated home office space free from distractions. The Student Success Coach role at arenaflex follows a structured 40-hour work week with an assigned schedule. Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CDT, and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT. We proudly hire Student Success Coaches from all time zones across the United States, provided they have full availability during our hours of operation in support of our students.
