[Remote] Director of Operations

Established Search is partnering with a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare technology company to appoint their first Director of People. This role involves building and shaping the People function during a pivotal stage of growth, focusing on the full employee lifecycle and enhancing talent strategies to align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's people strategy, aligning talent initiatives with business objectives
- Partner with leadership on organisational design, workforce planning and scaling initiatives
- Review and evolve compensation, benefits and total rewards programmes
- Design and implement performance management frameworks, feedback processes and career progression pathways
- Build leadership development programmes and equip managers with tools to support high-performing teams
- Create scalable approaches to employee development, succession planning and internal mobility
- Enhance recruiting processes, hiring manager capability and candidate experience
- Establish systems and practices that support efficient and inclusive hiring
- Partner with leaders to identify future talent needs and workforce priorities
- Oversee employee relations matters and provide guidance on complex people issues
- Ensure compliance across a multi-state workforce, including employment regulations, worker classification and related processes
- Maintain and improve people policies, procedures and governance frameworks
- Drive initiatives that strengthen culture, engagement and employee wellbeing
- Own employee listening programmes and translate feedback into meaningful action
- Continuously improve onboarding, benefits, recognition and team connection initiatives
Skills
- 8+ years of progressive People/HR experience, including experience supporting geographically distributed teams
- Proven success building or significantly transforming a People function within a scaling organisation
- Strong understanding of employment practices and workforce compliance across multiple states
- Experience partnering with both operational and professional teams within regulated or complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, influence stakeholders and drive organisational change
- Experience managing and developing People team members
- Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
