Position Overview

As a Remote Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in ensuring that every customer interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. This position blends data entry precision with patient-centered service, giving you the chance to work at the intersection of healthcare operations and customer experience. You will be responsible for processing prescriptions, managing customer inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting pharmacists in delivering safe and effective pharmaceutical care—all from the comfort of your remote workspace.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will work a full-time schedule of eight hours per day, with occasional flexibility required for evening or weekend shifts based on business needs. The starting pay for this role is $25 per hour, with opportunities for performance-based increases as you develop your expertise within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience and Engagement

  • Deliver warm, professional greetings to every customer and patient, offering assistance with products, services, and prescription needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring each interaction results in a positive experience that reflects arenaflex's service standards.
  • Model and share best practices for customer service with team members, reinforcing the company values of helpfulness, attentiveness, and follow-through.
  • Build trust with customers by demonstrating genuine care, maintaining eye contact during video interactions, and using courteous language at all times.

Pharmacy Operations and Data Entry

  • Register customer purchases using designated point-of-sale systems, accurately processing transactions, handling cash, and providing correct change.
  • Process voids, returns, exchanges, refunds, and delayed orders as needed, ensuring all transactions are recorded with precision.
  • Assist pharmacists under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy computer systems to obtain patient and medication information.
  • Enter prescription data accurately into the system, verify medication details, and check for potential drug interactions or errors.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and measuring pharmaceutical products, then verifying the correct medication has been selected before final approval.
  • Support pharmacists in scheduling, maintaining workflow, and managing prescription queues efficiently.
  • Immediately report any prescription errors to the supervising pharmacist and adhere to arenaflex's Quality Improvement Program policies.
  • Strictly follow arenaflex's policies regarding ethical dispensing practices during all prescription-related activities.

Inventory and Store Maintenance

  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked counters and retail displays, ensuring products are presented in an attractive and accessible manner.
  • Check in and price incoming stock, coordinate with senior leadership on inventory needs, and rotate perishable items using the first-in, first-out method.
  • Assist with stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, verifying shipments, and properly storing pharmaceutical and retail products.
  • Document and report any inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, damaged goods, or order errors.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations regarding controlled substances, alcohol, and tobacco products.
  • Build and maintain product displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions as directed.

Administrative and Technical Duties

  • Handle phone calls and digital inquiries that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist, including routing calls to physicians when appropriate.
  • Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support online order fulfillment by monitoring the Picture Care Plus system, picking items, and ensuring orders are delivered to customers promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of arenaflex's store systems and equipment, troubleshooting minor technical issues as they arise.
  • Provide customer service in the photo department, including assistance with digital passport photos, banner printing, and promotional photo products.
  • Ensure the remote work environment remains organized, professional, and conducive to productivity.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace suitable for remote work.
  • Ability to pass a background check and any required drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Prior work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including data entry software and point-of-sale platforms.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes and best practices.
  • Current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or willingness to obtain certification through arenaflex's training program.
