Jr High ELA Teacher (5th- 8th grade) SS. Faith. Hope & Charity School is currently seeking a full time Jr High Science teacher for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Our Jr High School science teachers are expected to be dedicated, organized, enthusiastic and high energy professionals who are mission driven. Teachers should provide engaging coursework and be able to cater to diverse student needs. Successful candidates will have creativity and willingness to teach a variety of topics, including but not limited to, English and Advanced level reading . A middle school Language Arts teacher should have superb classroom management skills, a firm grasp on curriculum development, and a firm understanding of how to engage students. A teacher should have the passion and energy to be able to inspire passion and energy from their students. A successful teacher can incorporate technology and different avenues of learning to keep the material fresh and interesting. Qualifications: · Minimum of a bachelor?s degree is required Preferred Qualifications: · 3t o 5 years teaching experience · Valid state teaching licensure (we accept out-of-state teaching licenses) · Experience teaching through remote learning platforms · A Bachelor?s degree in a comparable field General Responsibilities: · Teach and act in accordance with the mission of the Catholic faith. · Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and principal · Participate in professional development programs required by the Archdiocese of Chicago and/or the local school and parish · Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal, including but not limited to providing remote instruction for students · Attend required faculty and staff meetings · Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities, and projects · Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records · Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment · Participate in the annual performance review · Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters Working Conditions: · While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently move, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds. As well as be able to walk up and down steps several times each day and physically respond quickly in an emergency.
