Staff Accountant
OPAL Fuels is a leader in the capture and conversion of biogas into renewable energy. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage general accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations and financial reporting, while supporting audit requests and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for cash and other general accounts
- Support audit requests as directed
- Oversees daily cash reporting process, including preparation of journal entries for company’s cash accounts, including recording cash receipts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording, and reporting of all accounts and including intercompany balances
- Book journal entries as needed and directed
- Perform daily accounting and financial reporting operations as directed
- Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items for various balance sheet accounts
- Ad hoc accounting research, analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules
- Special assignments and responsibilities as requested
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant
- Strong US GAAP knowledge
- Solid general accounting, GL reporting control-oriented skills in a multi-entity public company
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Proactive mindset
- Good professional judgement and grounding in GAAP
- CPA track preferred
- Familiarity with accounting system, Solomon (MS Dynamics), Netsuite is a plus
- Financial reporting for multi-location operation
