IT Data Center Engineer (KVM & FortiGate) - LATAM

IT Data Center Engineer (Remote | Mid-Level)

Atlantic Talent Services is partnering with a high-growth U.S.-based mobile operator delivering advanced solutions across global telecom ecosystems. We enable carriers worldwide with local mobile services, international roaming, and Cloud MVNE platforms.

We are hiring a hands-on IT Data Center Engineer to take ownership of critical infrastructure in a production, carrier-grade environment.

Mandatory Requirements to Move Forward

To be considered in the process, candidates must have hands-on experience with BOTH:

• KVM virtualization
• FortiGate (configuration & management)

This is a technical, execution-focused role — not advisory or managerial.

What You’ll Be Doing (Day-to-Day Ownership)

Network & Connectivity

• Configure and manage Layer 2/Layer 3 networks
• Deploy and support Cisco (1921) and FortiGate firewalls (hands-on)
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues

Systems & Virtualization

• Manage KVM environments (hands-on administration required)
• Support Linux servers (CentOS & Ubuntu) in production
• Maintain Lenovo server infrastructure

Data Center Operations

• Ensure uptime, performance, and security of infrastructure
• Execute backups, recovery processes, and incident response
• Maintain clean and structured technical documentation

Support & Execution

• Act as an escalation point for infrastructure-related issues
• Work closely with technical teams to resolve incidents fast
• Continuously optimize systems and processes

Requirements

What You Bring

• 3 years in IT infrastructure / data center roles
• Proven hands-on experience with:
  • Layer 2/3 networking
  • Cisco routers and switches
  • FortiGate (mandatory)
  • KVM virtualization (mandatory)
  • Linux (CentOS / Ubuntu)
• Experience with physical servers (Lenovo is a plus)
• English level: C1 or higher (mandatory)

• Able to work independently in a remote environment

• CCNA or higher
• Fortinet NSE certification
• RHCSA or equivalent
