WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Under limited supervision, collect and evaluate data from organizational units and prepare recommendations for deliverables including financial plans and/or financial analysis. May provide business leaders with financial forecasts to support short and long - term decision making. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

• Significantly contribute to month-end and year-end department accounting activity by reviewing financial transactions, evaluating operating activities, and preparing journal entries in compliance with GAAP
• Support the development of budgets for specific departments/functions, including creating templates, consolidating submissions, and interacting with operations leadership.
• Gather & analyze financial information, perform detailed general ledger research, and support operations with preparing variance analyses and explanations.
• Produce periodic financial & ad-hoc reports for research/reporting purposes, including analysis of supply and labor usage, as well as activity volume.
• Support the implementation of financial policies/procedures and demonstrate a working knowledge of the organization's Financial Manual of Policies and Procedures
• Create and maintain reference tools to communicate financial best practices; communicate regularly with operations staff to resolve issues, reconcile errors, and coach on finance procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with accounting/finance emphasis, or related analytical field required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Skills: Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or other software is required.
• Experience using large scale automated financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion) desired but not required.
• PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote opportunity. Ideal candidate will have experience working in a remote environment.

PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $83,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.
