EA SPORTS Academy - Software Engineer (Vancouver, Canada)

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. The EA SPORTS Academy is a unique program designed to accelerate growth as a Software Engineer, focusing on guided learning and technical development in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • You will participate in monthly learning modules throughout your first year as part of your EA SPORTS Academy cohort
  • You will be embedded in an EA SPORTS Development Team and:
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and software engineers to deliver features for a cross-platform game
  • Write clear and estimatable technical design specifications
  • Use C/C++ to ship tested and high-quality technical implementations that meet design requirements
  • Follow best practices to maximize game performance across multiple devices and platforms

Skills

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc in Computer Science with a graduation date between December 2024 and May 2026
  • Proficiency in C++ programming
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices
  • Strength working in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with creative technical solutions
  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge, principles, and solutions
  • 1+ years of experience with another programming language(s) (C# or Java) and/or platforms (mobile, game consoles) is a major plus
