Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Remote Benefits Customer Service Representative to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional support to our members via phone, email, and instant message. You'll build rapport, respond to customer inquiries, and navigate complex benefits information with sensitivity and discretion. Key Responsibilities

* Build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner, consistently meeting commitments via phone, email, and instant message

  • Customize customer service approach to meet all types of member communication styles and personalities while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy during difficult calls
  • Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws and company data security requirements
  • Skillfully translate health and welfare and pension terms, complex plan information, and processes into simple explanations and instructions that customers can understand and act upon
  • Read and understand clients' plan documents and online knowledgebase tools while collecting relevant information to determine immediate requests/questions and to anticipate the future needs of the member
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and provide exceptional support

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED

  • Various experience in Customer Service or Call Center, preferably in a benefits or insurance-related field
  • English speaking candidates or Bilingual in Spanish or French (Paid .75 Cents more if Bilingual, Fully Fluent in Spanish or French)

Essential Qualifications

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex benefits information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple customer interactions simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in using technology, including CRM software, email, and instant messaging platforms

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a benefits or insurance-related field, with knowledge of health and welfare plans and pension terms

  • Bilingual in Spanish or French, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers who speak these languages
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
