This will revolutionize how customers secure their data by placing identity at the core – providing unparalleled visibility and control. We are looking for a highly skilled and visionary Distinguished Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our cloud-native Identity and Data Platform. This role will drive architecture strategy, set technical direction, and work cross-functionally to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, highly available, and extensible to support current and future product requirements. This role is high impact at the company level and will be instrumental in shaping our next generation Identify and Data Security Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Platform Architecture

  • Architect and evolve the Identity and Data Platform to support Netwrix’s growing SaaS portfolio.
  • Define and own the technical roadmap for authentication (OIDC/OAuth2), authorization (RBAC/ABAC), identity federation (SAML, SCIM), and multi-tenant access control.
  • Lead the design and development of frontend experiences (React)
  • Design scalable and secure microservices and APIs to unify identity, user data, roles, policies, and permissions across all Netwrix SaaS products.
  • Champion design systems, UI performance optimizations, and accessibility standards to deliver a consistent and responsive user experience.

Engineering & Innovation Leadership

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate complex customer requirements into robust, extensible software solutions.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Security Engineers, DevOps, and Development teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
  • Lead technical reviews, code audits, and architectural discussions, serving as a mentor and multiplier across teams.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives, perform architectural reviews, and ensure alignment with overall enterprise architecture.

Domain Expertise & Strategy

  • Implement best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and zero-trust security models.
  • Guide platform data architecture decisions to support user management, auditing, and analytics at scale.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Security Engineers, DevOps, and Development teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.

Thought Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering culture across product lines.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to executives, product leaders, and strategic customers.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, customer briefings, and technical communities.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years leading architecture and development of enterprise security products.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems design, microservices, and API-first architectures.
  • Proven experience building customer-facing web applications (React, TypeScript, or similar frameworks).
  • Strong proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs in a microservices environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (preferably Azure), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless patterns.
  • Strong grasp of frontend performance, security (e.g., XSS, CSRF, CORS), and accessibility best practices.
  • Programming expertise in languages like Go, Java, C#, or Python and experience with modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong hands-on experience with security protocols and identity standards: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, Kerberos.
  • Strong background in security, compliance, and data privacy (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Distinguished Engineer, Chief Architect, or equivalent in an enterprise security or infrastructure SaaS company.
  • Experience building compliance-ready products (e.g., SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
