Job Summary

As a Senior Analytics Engineer on our Member Insights and Product Development team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining data pipelines, tools, and products that inform product strategy across member insights. You will work closely with data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders to design and implement scalable data solutions that drive business outcomes. Your expertise in data analysis, storytelling with data, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential in helping us to continuously improve the way we use data to enhance the Netflix product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a vision for how to best tell the story of how our members are engaging with Netflix and build agreement around this vision with our partners in Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Design and build top-tier analytics products that bring this vision to life; create powerful tooling to monitor and evaluate product performance.
  • Collaborate with our Data Engineering partners and other Data Scientists in the team to ensure we have high-quality data to support the products we are building, including data modeling and semantic layers for analysis and experimentation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other Analytics Engineers in the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis, machine learning, and data engineering.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • At least four years of experience building scalable data pipelines and solutions that power product insights.
  • Strong experience with domain-specific data modeling to scale analysis across complex organizations.
  • Passion for building scalable, repeatable tooling and data solutions; enthusiasm for understanding requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in SQL for working with large datasets (e.g., Spark, Trino).
  • Experience with designing data pipelines and orchestrating workflows (e.g., Windstream, Metaflow).
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming in Python.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (e.g., API calls) and engineering practices (e.g., code review, unit testing).
  • Practical experience with building compelling, data-driven visualizations with dashboard tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a streaming or media industry.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and machine learning tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
