About the role

The Group Facilitator will be responsible for running evening virtual group sessions for Equip’s patients and families. This part-time role requires at least 5 hours of weekly availability, and will focus on the facilitation of support groups, skills groups, and treatment groups. The ideal candidate has prior experience leading therapeutic groups, has a passion for evidence-based care, is reliable, and is a strong communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group classes to support the treatment of eating disorders in a virtual clinic (i.e., telehealth) setting. Group class topics include but are not limited to dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and general support and processing groups.

  • Complete timely documentation of group sessions in accordance with Equip’s policies and procedures.

  • Participate in initial and ongoing trainings, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Master’s degree or doctoral degree program in mental health field and be license-eligible in California (marriage and family therapy, social work, professional counseling, psychology, etc.) 

  • Applied and obtained confirmation of pre-license status (e.g., Associates status) in California (must be verified by primary source verification) 

  • Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours (after 5pm in candidate’s timezone)

  • Passion for evidence-based care and treatment

  • Previous experience facilitating therapeutic groups

  • Ability to safely and effectively deliver care in a virtual treatment.

Physical Demands

Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
