R&D Engineer - SVD

Kitware, Inc. seeks R&D Engineer - SVD for our Clifton Park, NY HQ loc and may work remotely from any approved U.S. state location.

Design & develop scalable data analysis & visualization tools (incl Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and ParaView) for use by researchers & professionals from various domains. Design & develop end-user tools for data analysis & visualization. Solve problems ranging from developing distributed memory parallel algorithms for data analysis & visualization to maintaining software on supercomputers. Contribute to development of next gen data analysis & visualization tools. Contribute to & support dynamic open source communities built around open source tools. Communicate w/ customers & mentor more junior employees. Contribute to improvement of tech platforms & provide feedback on policies/procedures. Little local or national travel to client locations may be involved. May undergo background checks.

Must have Master’s in Comp Sci or rel field with corresponding emphasis on visualization and computational science. Required skills: Mesh generation and adaptation, C++. Alternatively, must have Bachelor’s in Comp Sci or rel field with corresponding emphasis on visualization and computational science, and 1 year relevant software development or research exp; and required skills. Required skills: Mesh generation and adaptation, C++. Required skills can be gained concurrent with education, and skills will be measured through passage of technical screen or interview. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
