Online Academic Tutor | Certified Teachers | Grades 3-12 Focus

K12 Tutoring is seeking dedicated and passionate educators to provide high-quality virtual tutoring in English Language Arts and Math for students in grades 3-12. Tutors will support students during the school day and/or after school, based on district needs and availability.

About the Role

Tutors will deliver live, virtual instruction to small groups or individual students using curriculum aligned to school pacing and academic standards. This role is ideal for educators who are committed to student growth and equity in education, and who are comfortable using online tools to support learning in a dynamic, engaging way. Please note: There is no guaranteed minimum number of sessions, and availability may vary.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engaging and effective virtual instruction in ELA and/or Math to students in grades 3-12
• Adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and learning goals
• Use school-provided materials or tutor created resources to align tutoring with classroom content
• Track student progress and provide timely feedback

Preferred Schedule

• Location is remote
• Daytime availability preferred (during school hours)
• Opportunities also available for after-school tutoring

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in English Language Arts (ELA) or Math
• Grades 3-12 with science of reading training preferred
• Daytime availability 8 am – 4 pm preferred
• Online teaching experience preferred
• English Language Learners (ELL) experience preferred
• Experience using formative assessments to track student progress preferred

To be considered:

• You must be a teacher with an active state teacher certification
• Pass a criminal background check
• Attend an online information session – this will change soon but probably should leave it up for this round
• Demonstrate mastery of the platform tools
• Live in the United States or US territories

Once you're accepted:

• Complete a K12 Tutoring training course
• Create your tutor profile
• Set your availability
• List the courses you're qualified to tutor
• Comply with community guidelines

Once onboarding steps are successfully completed, you can start receiving student bookings in either 1-on-1 or small group formats. There are also opportunities for regular, recurring sessions through our district partners. Benefits of tutoring with K12 Tutoring:
