Job Description:

As a Principal DevOps Engineer at CVS Health, you will be responsible for driving the organizational change in developing DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements and ensure adoption, including observability, scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture
• Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques
• Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement and optimization
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for adoption
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Requirements:

• Experience working in public cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex DevOps platform issues
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions)
• Experience with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
• Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers
