Remote Cloud DevOps Engineer - Part-Time Opportunity with Southwest Airlines

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team at Southwest Airlines. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, scalability, and reliability. This is a part-time, remote opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $27-$35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure automation, pipeline automation, and cloud capabilities
• Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams to build reusable and secure cloud infrastructure
• Stay up-to-date with cloud computing industry trends and apply that knowledge to continuously innovate and evolve our cloud platform
• Perform in a DevOps culture and team, responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing operations of new and emerging technology systems
• Implement automation tools and frameworks for automated code deployment (CI/CD)
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructure
• Establish and/or follow procedures and standards to ensure high-quality work

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Intermediate-level experience with cloud software or DevOps
• Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure as a Service, automation tools like CloudFormation, and expertise in AWS compute, data resources, and security technologies
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC), deployment strategies using Docker, and monitoring tools
• Ability to mentor and guide team members, introduce new ideas and technologies, and lead a team towards identifying and solving cross-area problems
