Equity Analyst- Baird Trust

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Baird is seeking an Equity Research Analyst for our Baird Trust Investment Management team. This team runs two equity strategies – Large Cap Equity and Equity Income. Our Large Cap Equity investment strategy has a 30+ year track record and is the flagship equity offering of Baird Trust. The Baird Trust Investment Management team currently consists of three members (two Portfolio Managers and an Equity Research Analyst), providing opportunity for immediate impact on our tight-knit team. As an Equity Analyst in Baird Trust, you will: Fundamental Research: Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative investment research on U.S.-listed companies across all sectors from the perspective of a long-term business owner. This includes maintaining coverage of current holdings, sourcing new ideas, conducting company calls/channel checks, and distilling large volumes of information into concise, strategic recommendations. Collaboration & debate: Discuss and debate investment theses, position sizing, risk/return and portfolio fit with the team in daily/weekly huddles; update investment theses as facts change. Client Communication: Present research and portfolio updates in weekly investment meetings with client-facing Portfolio Managers. Strategic projects: Lead ad-hoc projects – e.g. evaluating new data sources or automating research workflows – to scale a fast-growing investment franchise. What makes this opportunity great: Ability to make an immediate impact through excellent and well researched company analysis. Singular focus on making great investment decisions across any sector under an already defined and proven investment philosophy and process. Unique culture that values curiosity and independent thinking. Become an integral part of a small, tight-knit, successful investment team with a long runway for growth and development over the course of your career with Baird Trust. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, math, physics, chemistry or another quantitative discipline. A minimum of 3 years of investment industry experience, with a preference for candidates with an equity research background. Progress toward CFA preferred. Demonstrated intellectual curiosity – wide-ranging reading of business and industry trends, academic research and thought leadership – and an ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights. Fluency in financial statement analysis. Strong initiative and work ethic, and an ability to work well both within a team and on a self-directed basis. Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Exceptional oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management; strong presentation skills. Adept with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications. #DI #LI-TA1 Baird is committed to diversity and provides employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, military service, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, or any other status protected by law.
