Job Title:Senior QA Escalation Engineer

Location:San Jose, California (Onsite)

Job Type:Full Time

Scope

  • Depending on candidate’s experienceand skillset, thie candidate will either join Extreme’s software escalation team, working alongside GTAC, QA and development on customer escalations, or be part of the Software Quality Assurance teamto help create, maintain and execute automated solutionslevel test cases. Reporting to the wireless software Quality Organization the responsibilities include:
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases using Python.
  • Replicate software defects found in the field
  • Maintain documentation of test results.
  • Analyze test results to validate existing functionality and recommend corrective action.
  • Submit identified defects into a defect tracking system.
  • Work with development engineers in resolution of identified defects.
  • Triage software defects with the team and prioritize defect fix queues.
  • Review functional specifications and product documentation.
  • Analyze and write test standards and procedures.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering, and 7-10 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of Layer-2 and Layer-3 networking and security technologies. Specifically with WiFi (802.11, WiFi7, WiFi 6E), IPv4, IPv6, 802.1X, RADIUS.
  • Ability to code with Python.
  • Knowledge of cloud environment and container (AWS/Kubernetes).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Desired Skills/Experience

  • Experience automating test cases for Layer-2 and/or Layer-3 networking technologies.
  • Experience running automated regressions and performing failure analysis.
  • Experience maintaining all aspects of an automation infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, network traffic generators).
