THE ROLE

We’re looking for an exceptional Product Manager to help scale our AI platform at the pace of the market. You’ll work at the center of Baseten’s product lifecycle—from discovery to delivery—helping bring new products to life, guiding them to product-market fit, and supporting our engineering teams with structure and context. This is a high-impact role that combines customer engagement , technical depth , cross-functional collaboration, and strategic execution.

Once ramped, you'll fully own shipping products that cut through our whole stack: infrastructure, model performance, and developer experience. No matter your domain, you’ll be responsible for enabling aligned execution to take the product to market and bring the market to the product.

EXAMPLE INITIATIVES

You'll get to work on these types of projects as part of our Core Product team:

• Chains for multi-component workflows

• Asynchronous inference

• Model APIs for frontier models

• Model training built for production inference

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take products to market: Partner with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Sales to iterate on product execution and deliver features that drive customer adoption and product-market fit.

• Bring the market to the product: Synthesize insights from customers, FDEs, Sales, and the broader AI ecosystem to inform product direction and prioritization.

• Drive aligned execution: Coordinate across teams to ensure context is shared, dependencies are clear, and execution is fast and smooth.

• Own and grow product areas: Continue to improve and iterate on products you shipping to drive adoption wedge in the market.

• Facilitate product development rigor: Introduce scalable processes that enable rapid iteration without compromising quality or engineering efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of engineering experience (SWE or Tech Lead or Eng Manager)

• 1-4 years of product management experience in technical, fast-paced environments

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams

• Customer-first mindset with demonstrated success building and iterating products based on real-world feedback

• A systems thinker who thrives in complex problem spaces with technical depth

• Technical fluency— you should be comfortable working closely with engineers on the problems they're solving

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with developer platforms, ML infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS

• Familiarity with ML workloads, inference pipelines, or fine-tuning models

• Understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and scaling requirements
