A quick look at the role Head of Corporate Accounts leads and manages a team of Account Managers, Senior Account Managers, and Account Directors responsible for maintaining and developing strong business relationships between Biffa and its Corporate clients within SWR. The role is accountable for driving commercial performance, client growth and retention, successful contract negotiations, compliance, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Your core responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers, Senior Account Managers, and Account Directors to ensure high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Support the Head of Corporate Accounts for Construction Supply & SWR in shaping the overall sector strategy.
  • Oversee the management of key client relationships to drive retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnership value.
  • Drive revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and supporting new business opportunities
  • Monitor commercial performance and profitability of accounts, ensuring alignment with financial targets and delivery of sector budget
  • Lead or support major contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms that align with business objectives and risk management protocols.
  • Promote a customer-first culture, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction through quality service delivery and proactive engagement.
  • Identify risks to client retention and implement strategies to mitigate them
  • Use data to inform strategic decision-making and demonstrate value to clients
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams such as operations, commercial, wider I&C commercial teams to ensure the seamless delivery of services and support for client initiatives.

Our essential requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a high performing commercial or account management team
  • Demonstrated success in managing strategic B2B client relationships within a corporate environment
  • Strong background in commercial negotiations and contract management
  • Track record of delivering commercial growth and client retention strategies across a portfolio of corporate clients
  • Deep understanding of client account lifecycle management, including onboarding, retention, and growth strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports and manage budgets.
