Community & Growth Lead

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Company Overview: Makina, a crypto-native organization of builders and DeFi leaders, is seeking a full-time Community & Growth Lead. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing team focused on building trust-minimized infrastructure for the next generation of onchain strategies.

Makina introduces a novel framework for onchain asset management that addresses a significant gap in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. While DeFi has successfully replicated many traditional financial primitives, asset management remains underdeveloped, and sophisticated yielding strategies are not broadly available to users across the space. Makina provides a highly adaptable and secure architecture designed to facilitate a broad spectrum of strategies.

Job Summary: As the Community & Growth Lead, you will focus on managing, developing, and growing Makina’s community, which consists of key stakeholder groups such as:

  • Makina’s users and stakeholders, including depositors, token holders, and strategy operators.
  • The general crypto-native community of companies, protocols and other entities that might be interested in various partnership opportunities related to Makina (i.e., distribution channels, partnerships that provide utility for LP tokens, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with Makina’s Marketing team, build, develop, and evolve Makina’s global community across all platforms (i.e., X/Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, Discord, etc.).
  • In cooperation with Makina’s Marketing team, own social media strategy and regularly publish a range of social media posts across Makina’s various channels.
  • Grow Makina’s community through community-led growth hacking including ambassador networks, power user programs, channel gamification, incentivization campaigns, and more.
  • Oversee and execute on real-time engagement, platform growth, content performance, and storytelling.
  • Be on top of the narrative and identify emerging narratives before they trend so that our community growth strategy can take advantage of these trends (e.g., agentic DeFi, stablecoins, etc.).
  • Experiment with new formats and platforms, ensuring the team stays on the cutting edge of community / social media trends.

Key Requirements

  • Proven ability to build, scale, and engage large crypto-native communities across different platforms.
  • Social media capabilities including cutting, editing, and posting content across platforms.
  • Experience in managing and growing X accounts, and building a community in the CT sphere.
  • Crypto-native level industry knowledge (especially in the DeFi space)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a capacity for independent and flexible thinking.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to be responsible for achieving the desired results while also contributing to the success of projects shared by the wider team.
  • Integrity, humility, intellectual curiosity, honesty, and forthright communication. We are a team of open-minded intellectuals who utilize a dialectical approach to arrive at what is true.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a community and/or growth role for a crypto-native company.
  • Personal presence on X.
  • Track record in creating viral content on social media.
  • Experience in an events-related role for a crypto-native company.

Benefits

  • Dynamic and collegiality in a small team working in fields that are shaping the future of our society.
  • As a modern employer, we offer you contemporary working conditions, ample space to develop yourself alongside the company, and exciting and challenging projects.
  • Competitive compensation, bonuses, and participation opportunities.
  • Exposure to extremely talented people and very interesting clients who have unique investment profiles.
  • Supportive work and team atmosphere with flat hierarchies and a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Makina is an equal opportunity employer with a highly diverse workforce.
