The Arbitration Senior Director is responsible for managing and overseeing parts of the Arbitration processes for both Federal and State arbitration, but will be involved in and have wholistic understanding of all Arbitration processes at USAP. This position involves closely collaborating with Arbitration, Legal, RCM, and Finance teams, as well as external entities, to monitor and improve performance, resolve process and payment delays, and ensure the delivery of best-in-class Arbitration services across the organization. The role requires active participation in meetings, both internal and external, and regular communication and collaboration with all teams and leadership to maintain strong relationships, address challenges, and deliver performance reports. The role will run a large, multifunctional team, responsible for executing time-sensitive tasks to drive revenue for the organization. The primary objective is to ensure the effective execution of Arbitration services, timely identification and resolution of issues, and driving top-tier Arbitration performance.

Job Highlights

  • Drives strategy around optimizing the performance of the Arbitration team and its processes.
  • Partners with Legal, RCM Operations, and Finance to inform and to solve key business challenges.
  • Attends and presents in standing Arbitration team meetings, Executive Leadership Steering Committee Meetings, and other meetings as scheduled.
  • Evaluates daily processes, task statuses, and identifies any opportunities and problems.
  • Communicates any resolution or collections issues to the Leadership team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Leads large multifunctional teams, both on- and off-shore, and provides constant guidance and ongoing support to ensure growth and oversight of the team.
  • Embraces and is comfortable with constant change, learning new processes, and using creativity to drive new solutions to challenges.
  • Analyzes and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure overall health of the department.
  • Assists in the planning and execution to arbitrate new payers or arbitrate in new states across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience preferred.• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or relevant field required.• Experience managing a large and growing team.• Knowledge of Arbitration/Independent Dispute Resolution, and RCM billing systems preferred.• Proficiency in MS suite required, including but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint.• Skilled in reporting out to executive-level stakeholders.• Metric and process focused leader who measures success in terms of financial returns, process optimization, and patient / customer satisfaction. • Mature, team-oriented, energetic businessperson who places major emphasis on success, service and cross-functional teamwork.• An execution-oriented and energetic, hands-on manager who does not shy away from leading by example and getting involved.• Proven ability to manage in a rapid growth and ever-changing environment.• Highly intelligent, conceptual and financially focused, with proven judgment and capable of analyzing business and management problems, arriving at sound solutions.• Work-oriented and highly motivated but tempered by a sensitivity to people.• Unquestionable personal and business integrity with the personal stature to command respect both within and outside the organization.• Confident of his/her abilities and able to prepare documented plans and proposals to address the corporation’s information systems requirements.
