We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a remote position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting and will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, managing financial records, and providing financial advice to our clients. This role reports directly to the Senior Accountant and will have significant interaction with clients, making excellent communication skills a must. The ideal candidate will be someone with internship experience and/or an accounting degree. Why join us? • 100% remote • Paid time off • Benefits • Work/life balance • True mentorship Job Details Responsibilities As a Permanent Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to • Preparing accurate and timely individual and business tax returns. • Assisting clients with financial and tax planning. • Managing financial records including invoices, receipts, and tax payments. • Utilizing QuickBooks to track and analyze financial data. • Providing insightful information and expectations to senior staff to aid in long-term and short-term decision making. • Reviewing complex income, expense and balance sheet reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and tax returns. • Communicating with clients regularly to understand their financial needs and provide tailored advice. Qualifications To qualify for this role, you should possess the following • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a public accounting role. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. • Proven experience with individual and business tax preparation. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required.
