Job title: Food Services Assistant Manager Company: Teach Mississippi Job description : Description of Position: Manage the inventory and order food and beverages, equipment, and supplies. Oversee food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Stocking and rotating food supplies and non-food products Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures Turn on, test, and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day Handle cash, make deposits according to district policy Assist in menu planning, ordering trucks, and basic P&L responsibilities. Food preparations according to written and oral instructions. Serve breakfast, lunch, and ala carte items. Handle cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales and serving of ala carte items. Replenish food and maintain a clean work environment. Participate in formal and informal training. Cold and hot food preparation including cooking, steaming, and baking. Customer food service to students, staff, faculty, parents, and guests. Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times. Exhibit courtesy and understanding to staff and customers. Perform dishwashing duties of cooking, serving, and eating utensils & tools. Set up and break down of serving areas. Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices. Exhibit the professional behavior of a reliable employee. Maintain a safe work environment. Participate in marketing promotions and special events for students, adults and community. Sign in and work according to the time schedule. Cleaning, mopping, sanitation, and trash removal of the kitchen and dining room. Assisting with duties such as: taking inventory, checking in trucks, and food/supplies breakouts. Other duties as assigned by the manager and assistant manager.
