Must be a U.S. citizen. Overview : Transcribe medical dictation using proprietary software and a compatible foot pedal. Specialties include acute care and others. Responsibilities :
- Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation and related documents.
- Use reference materials effectively to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of reports.
- Meet quality and productivity standards and deadlines established by the employer.
- Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness.
- Format reports according to established guidelines.
- Understand the medicolegal implications and responsibilities related to transcription of patient records.
- Comply with policies regarding confidentiality, release of information, and legal requirements.
- Maintain employer’s performance expectations.
Qualifications / Skills :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to achieve and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, AHDI guidelines, and procedures.
- Ability to operate transcription equipment and related software.
- Excellent listening skills, with the ability to understand diverse accents and dictation styles.
Job Requirements :
- Home office setup.
- High-speed internet connection (no satellite).
- USB Infinity foot pedal (DVI USB foot pedals are incompatible).
- Windows 10, Intel i3 or better processor / AMD K4 or better, 8 GB RAM minimum, 250 GB hard drive minimum.
- Work sessions ranging from 30 minutes to over 2 hours.
