Risk Manager III, Global AML SAM Program and Regulatory Reporting

The right candidate will possess a solid understanding AML regulations and transaction monitoring combined with a strong business and project management background. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done, and provide recommendations to speed key decisions. The candidate should also have a track record of timely delivery of large-scale projects, and have the ability to operate independently. In this role, you will work closely with the legal, business, product, operations, and engineering teams on effective risk mitigation countermeasures to ensure continued safety and compliance for Amazon. This role requires you to leverage knowledge of regulations, insight into industry standards, and their experience in product risk assessment and mitigation to create and influence policies and strategies, AI/ML model reviews, legacy rules to AI/ML model requirement. Key job responsibilities You will leverage your deep AML experience to drive large-scale efforts to ensure adherence with regulations. You will translate high level requirements into straight-forward solutions, often inventing new ones. We are looking for a critical thinker who is also technically adept and thrives on solving challenges in partnership with teams across Amazon. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than many programs and display high levels of bias for action, earning trust, and ownership. This Position Will Be Responsible For The Following Activities

• Lead SAM Program by developing transaction monitoring strategies based on applicable business and compliance objectives and risks.
• Oversee SAM rules both AI/ML models and rules development and performance.
• Drive strategic projects across business and technical teams and effectively report to senior Compliance leadership on progress.
• Assess and communicate risk posture to the senior management, Compliance Officers, legal, and business stakeholders.
• Work with business, product, engineering, and analytics teams on development of new solutions to enable compliance at scale.

A day in the life The SAM Program team defines, builds, and continuously evaluates controls across the Compliance systems and processes. We perform risk assessments, identify control needs, and drive control build out, remediation, and improvements. We work closely with technical, business, legal, and operations teams to review process and system designs and provide input on controls solution. • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience working with AI/ML models and performing model validation/reviews
• Experience performing AML Transaction Monitoring Model Validation
• Experience assessing New York Department of Financial Services (NY DFS) 504 requirements for Transaction Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
