Employment Coach

Job Title: Employment Coach Location: Remote (In-person for training as needed) Job Type: Part-time Contract About Us: Hello, It’s Me® is a pioneering app dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our goal is to assist users in building meaningful friendships, enhancing social skills, and fostering employment opportunities. Our Employment Coaching Program is designed to support users through every stage of their employment journey—guiding them with job searches, workplace dynamics, and professional development to enhance employability and career success. Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group employment coaching sessions via virtual platforms and in-person as required.
• Assist participants in setting career goals and creating actionable employment plans.
• Guide users in navigating job searches, building resumes, preparing for interviews, and understanding workplace behavior.
• Personalize coaching strategies to align with the unique needs and abilities of each participant.
• Offer ongoing support and advice on maintaining employment, improving job performance, and resolving workplace challenges.
• Ensure flexible availability, committing to part-time work with a minimum engagement of three months at a time.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in employment coaching, career counseling, or related fields, particularly working with individuals with IDD.
• In-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities IDD individuals face in the workplace.
• Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening and empathy.
• Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive coaching environment.
• Must possess one or more of the following certifications:
• Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)
• National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services from ACRE
• Direct Support Professional-Specialist-Employment Support from NADSP
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Availability for part-time contract work, with occasional travel as needed.

• Workplace Skills Coaching: Help participants develop workplace etiquette, professional communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Flexibility: Adaptability to work across different scheduling needs and delivery methods.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work experience with individuals with IDD in coaching, mentoring, or employment training.
• Familiarity with inclusive employment practices and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of local employment resources and networks tailored for individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP)
• Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Certification
• Certified Job Coach
