Security Officer FT Days

About the position The Security Officer at AdventHealth Daytona Beach is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, employees, and property. This full-time position involves performing security services, responding to security issues, and maintaining a professional demeanor while interacting with the public. The role requires active participation in customer service and adherence to department policies and procedures. Responsibilities ? Perform security services through interaction with the public, patients, and employees. , ? Provide security at specific locations and respond to security issues. , ? Report suspicious circumstances and emergencies. , ? Assist with access as requested and maintain safety of designated areas. , ? Acknowledge and respond to alarms, determining their source and providing assistance. , ? Utilize and maintain all issued equipment, including radio communication devices. , ? Interact professionally with the public and provide assistance as directed. , ? Document all crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities per department policy. , ? Intercede in disputes using verbal de-escalation techniques. , ? Administer initial first aid as appropriate and to the level of training attained. , ? Participate in activities not directly related to Security operations as approved by Security Management. Requirements ? High school diploma or GED. , ? Applicable state driver's license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy. , ? Meets departmental testing (Mental, Physical, etc.) if applicable to facility. Nice-to-haves ? Basic computer skills including Windows, Word, and Excel. , ? Knowledge of Access Control and CCTV systems. , ? Understanding of Emergency Management principles. , ? International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training certification or equivalent certification. , ? Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. , ?
