Job Overview: The Pharmacist provides comprehensive oversight for all prescribed medications used within the facility according to current professional, regulatory and hospital standards. The Pharmacist is part of the overall interdisciplinary team that is able to advise and consult with other medical professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care. Qualifications: Required: ? Bachelors in Pharmacy or PharmD Preferred: ? One year of applicable work experience in a hospital setting or hospital-based residency program Certifications and Licenses Required: ? NJ Pharmacist License Scheduling Requirements: ? Shift working rotates, 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 1pm-9pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am when the night pharmacist takes PTO ? Monday-Friday, and every other weekend ? FT Essential Functions: ? Provides direct supervision of all non-pharmacist personnel ? Reviews all medications and/or ingredients prior to dispensing in accordance with established procedures and prioritizes department work flow ? Performs all procedures accordingly, completely and efficiently based upon the physician order and clinical status of the patient ? Utilizes the medication screening process to ensure medication orders are complete and are based on the patient's condition, age, lab parameters, co-morbid conditions and other medications ? Prepares and dispenses narcotic controlled substances and maintains an inventory in accordance with policy and applicable regulations, and completes controlled substance monthly audit reviews ? Prepares and dispenses sterile products, chemotherapy, and other sterile products in accordance with policies and procedures ? Completes medication variances and adverse drug reaction reporting ? Completes clinical monitoring and documents clinical interventions as assigned ?
