See details about what we do. This position is a member of our North Central and West Texas division. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING • Conduct technical inspections, surveys, and follow-up investigations; prepare reports which documents field activities and observed conditions. • Conduct environmental monitoring and prepare technical papers regarding studies involving environmental subjects • Provide technical assistance to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application of appropriate regulations • Assist with collecting and analyzing environmental samples KEY QUALIFICATIONS • Experience interpreting rules, regulations, policies, or procedures. • Experience conducting inspections or investigations. • Experience collecting environmental samples. • Experience interacting with the public, media, and/or regulated community. • Experience working with environmental issues, specifically air or waste issues. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required. OR Four years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed. CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Environmental Investigator II-IV series.
