Responsibilities: • Develop and optimize search algorithms for improved relevance and performance. • Enhance indexing, ranking, and retrieval mechanisms for large datasets. • Provide insights into Google’s search architecture to refine search strategies. • Work on projects requiring advanced knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and search infrastructure. • Collaborate with a remote team to deliver high-impact search solutions. Requirements: • Current employment at Google as a Search Engineer (required). • Expertise in search algorithms, ranking signals, indexing, and retrieval. • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or Go with experience in large-scale systems. • Strong understanding of machine learning, AI, and NLP in search applications. • Experience with distributed systems and big data technologies (e.g., MapReduce, BigQuery, TensorFlow). • Ability to work independently on confidential projects. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in search personalization and relevance optimization. • Familiarity with search quality metrics and A/B testing methodologies. • Prior work on improving search UX/UI experiences.
