About the position The Team Member (Cashier/Sales Associate/Retail) position is a vital role within our organization, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting various selling initiatives. This role requires a proactive approach to customer interaction, ensuring that each customer feels welcomed and valued. Team Members are expected to greet customers, uncover their needs, recommend suitable products, and effectively ask for the sale. This position is not just about transactions; it’s about building relationships and providing a legendary customer experience that keeps customers coming back. In addition to customer interaction, Team Members will engage in a variety of tasks that are essential to the store's operations. This includes operating the cash register and adhering to established cash handling procedures, recovering merchandise, participating in the freight process, and executing merchandising tasks such as completing plan-o-gram procedures. Team Members will also be responsible for assembling merchandise, performing janitorial duties, executing price changes and markdowns, and assisting customers with loading their purchases. Safety is paramount, especially when handling live animals, and Team Members must ensure the well-being of birds by maintaining poultry holding tanks and completing necessary documentation. The role requires flexibility, as Team Members must be able to work varied hours, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Regular and predictable attendance is crucial to meet the demands of the business. The working environment is generally indoors with moderate noise, and physical demands include the ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as operating equipment such as forklifts and balers, provided the individual is over 18 years of age. Overall, this position is integral to the success of the store, requiring a blend of customer service skills, operational efficiency, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers and team members to provide legendary customer service.

  • Support selling initiatives by greeting customers, uncovering their needs, recommending products, and asking for the sale.

  • Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.

  • Recover merchandise and participate in mandatory freight processes.

  • Complete plan-o-gram procedures including merchandising, sets, and resets.

  • Assemble merchandise and perform janitorial duties as needed.

  • Execute price changes and markdowns accurately.

  • Assist customers with loading their purchases and ensure their safety.

  • Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.

  • Complete all documentation associated with job duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is preferred.

  • No prior experience is required.

  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic computer skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding is strongly preferred.
