Sr Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Overview Under general supervision as an integral part of our team, you will perform a variety of complex clerical accounting tasks, while having the freedom to exercise your initiative, judgment, and discretion in resolving accounting problems. We are looking for candidates who will have a strong focus on adhering to accounting principles, policies, and procedures, handling new assignments and adept flexibility for changing processes with minimal supervision. This role requires the ability to work with speed and accuracy when performing complex numerical detail work, as well as proficiency in data input, retrieval, and reporting within time sensitive initiatives. The ideal candidate will be able to comprehend and follow complex oral and written instructions, specifically those involving technical accounting terminology and excellent collaboration with a team. What you will be doing:
- Reviews, verifies outstanding invoices from various sources such as ISQ, RP, and Oracle Payable Systems.
- Maintains ongoing communication relating to accounts payables with airport vendors and internal customers by telephone, email and meetings.
- Research payable questions for both internal and external customers; takes appropriate action when needed.
- Supports all areas of accounts payable regarding the resolution of vendor’s accounts relating to outstanding invoices.
- Ensures that internal and external customers are following the Board Policy and Procedures regarding vendors and payments.
- All duties on an, as needed, basis to facilitate accurate and timely actions in conjunction with the accounts payable section, to ensure both the Airport’s and customers’ goals are met.
What you need:
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Completion of college-level accounting course work.
- Three (3) years of responsible clerical accounting or accounts payable experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
