About the Team VIZIO releases firmware & software for millions of customers in a time efficient manner. We are seeking a DevOps Hardware Engineer, to join our robust and scaling DevOps team. Play a pivotal role in optimizing our software delivery process, fostering collaboration, and ensuring efficient operations. You'll bridge the gap between development and operations, enabling seamless workflows and continuous improvement. If you're passionate about automation, infrastructure management, and solving complex challenges, this role is for you! This position is based in Dallas and is expected to be in-office five days a week.

What You Will Do

  • Automation, Scripting, Device Management System Development and Tool Development:

o Write scripts (Python, Shell) to automate routine tasks. o Experience with HTML, CSS for web-based applications. o Experience with Golang/Python for tool development. o Develop and enhance CI/CD process o Implement and create tools that streamline the process for comprehensive device management systems for TVs. o Streamline the process of working with hardware components, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

  • Infrastructure Provisioning and Management:

o Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. o Certify TV configurations to meet quality standards and compatibility requirements.

  • Server Deployment and Maintenance:

o Deploy and maintain servers that host applications, ensuring their availability, scalability, and performance. o Certify TV configurations o Conduct compatibility testing and troubleshoot any issues related to hardware-software interactions.

  • Security Best Practices:

o Ensure secure practices throughout the software development lifecycle. o Monitor and address vulnerabilities, applying necessary patches and updates.

  • Cloud Services:

o Utilize AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) to build scalable and resilient infrastructure.

  • Cross-Functional and Deployment Coordination:

o Maintain detailed documentation for processes, and configurations. o Share knowledge with team members to foster continuous learning. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Product, Engineering and other 3rd party teams like chip vendors. About You - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, c++, or go). - Familiarity with DevOps tools and technologies.
