Azure DevOps Engineer

Position: Azure DevOps Engineer Location: 100% Remote Length: Rolling Contract Responsibilities:

• This Person will be writing pipeline code and writing infra modules.
• YAML based pipelines with a focus on reusable job and step templates.
• Have a deep knowledge of Azure PaaS services
• Ensure appropriate implementation of technology following all standards and best practices set forth by governing bodies.
• Assist in developing and managing a Tagging Governance Model, Resource Naming Standards, and other “solution delivery” compliance issues.
• Share Azure best practices, participate in a “Developer Community of Practice” with solution delivery teams, help instill best practices in our software developer practice, constantly update teammates and dev community on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming Azure Cloud capabilities.
• Conduct research on various technical initiatives and issues - propose and communicate technical/detailed solutions.
• Provide Azure engineering support to operations and technical development teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide guidance to technical leadership regarding future issue prevention.
• Support and implement the technology roadmap for our cloud platform.
• Provide financial cloud consulting to development teams to help shape technical requirements and solutions.

Must-Haves:

• Azure DevOps/YAML or GitHub Action pipelines – doesn’t need to have both but significant exp in either one is ok
• Infra code modules with Azure Bicep
• Significant exp writing infra code modules
• Reusable deployment templates
• A lot of exp in PowerShell or Bash
• Knowledge of cloud architectures and services
• Understanding of cloud automation and orchestration tools and techniques including git, Azure DevOps, ARM/Bicep or equivalent

Nice-to-Have:

• Enablement mindset serving multiple teams is very important than just one team. Center of excellence rather than just one team.
• Familiarity with cost structure of AWS and Azure products and services.
• Experience building dashboards with PowerBI.
• Experience with cost management tools like Azure Cost Management or AWS Cost Explorer
• Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework or Microsoft Well Architected Framework
• Azure certifications – Azure Admin, Azure Certified Architect, Azure Fundamentals
