Pathology Transcriptionist I
About the position The Pathology Transcriptionist I role at AdventHealth Orlando involves performing transcription activities to support pathologists and the pathology department. This position requires a combination of medical knowledge and clerical skills, ensuring accurate transcription of medical dictation while adhering to compliance regulations. The role is primarily remote, with initial in-person training required.
Responsibilities
Perform accurate transcription of recorded medical dictation into designated report format. , Assist with inventory control and general equipment maintenance. , Handle receptionist and clerical tasks including typing, filing, and distribution of interoffice memos. , Support communication among pathologists, assistants, and hospital staff. , Resolve customer service issues within established guidelines. , Attend and participate in scheduled department and committee meetings. , Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Completion of medical transcription program with certificate eligibility or one year of experience in medical dictation transcription. , Medical terminology training. , High school diploma or GED. Nice-to-haves
