Staff Accountant (Remote- US Based)

About the position The Staff Accountant will support Togetherwork's daily accounting operations within the mission-driven segment. This role involves posting accounts receivable payments, assisting with monthly billing, recording journal entries, and performing cash reconciliations. The position provides exposure to leadership, including the Controller and CFO, and requires collaboration with various accounting teams. Responsibilities • Ensure proper recognition of revenue, including for multi-element arrangements and deferred revenue. , • Assist operating companies with invoice creation, remittance, and new customer setup in the accounting system. , • Apply cash payments within the accounting system accurately and timely. , • Manage customer questions and feedback through the accounts receivable inbox. , • Execute daily and month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable functions, including maintaining reconciliations and recording journal entries. , • Assist with reconciling cash accounts within Sage Intacct on a routine schedule. , • Ensure cash amounts in ledgers agree with bank balances. , • Work with the Payments Accountant to ensure all payment-related general ledger activity is properly reported and accounted for. , • Collaborate with other staff/senior accountants and accounting managers to complete monthly accounting and general ledger requirements timely and accurately. , • Assist with related special projects, ad hoc reporting, and other duties as needed. Requirements • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting. , • 2+ years of relevant Accounting experience. , • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external partners. , • Proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize and meet deadlines. , • Strong problem-solver with high attention to detail. , • Team player with a strong work ethic. , • Experience with systems including Sage Intacct, Versapay, Kyriba, Stampli, Stripe, and Bill.com. , • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to analyze large datasets. Nice-to-haves • Big 4 Public Accounting experience and industry experience highly preferred. , • Experience in payments and/or SaaS preferred.
