Newtek Insurance Agency, is a retail and wholesale brokerage insurance agency licensed in all 50 states, specializing in the sale of commercial and health/benefits lines insurance products to the SMB market as well as various personal lines of insurance. As an Associate Customer Service Representative - Commercial Lines I, you will be assisting Customer Service Representatives (CSR's) in the writing of new business and the servicing of existing clients. This position will assist CSR's with client servicing, including necessary paperwork to be completed and proper documentation of agency management systems. This requires the ability to organize, manage multiple tasks, manage client, and company relationships, and gather and communicate technical information as it pertains to insurance. Maintain a professional working relationship with internal customers and external clients. Job Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Manage the insurance service email box daily and review and process insurance certificates. • Assist in following up on past due payments to carrier and finance companies as needed. • Assist in obtaining underwriting information, prepare applications and specifications for renewal and new business submissions as directed by management. • Assist in requesting loss runs from carriers to remarket and provide renewal quotes as needed. • Prepare certificates of insurance per client requests. • Pull renewal client policies from carrier portals and input into client file (ImageRight). • Bill all direct bill renewal policies. • Collaborate with CSR on sending the policies out to the respective clients. • Update AMS360 policy line of coverage for each renewal. • Assist the CSR with reviewing existing policies and endorsements, request changes to the carrier with appropriate follow up. • Prepare schedules of insurance, prepares I.D. cards, binders, certificates of insurance, issues finance agreements. • Return phone calls and respond to e-mails in a timely manner. • Assist with answering calls within the CSR chat. • Follow up and send out policy audits related to worker's compensation, general liability, etc. to the respective clients. • Complete the New Business Checklist to ensure new business clients have been onboarded correctly. • Create and ensure all clients have an InsurLink account. • Maintain accounts in Client Portal and set status to active/inactive and send invites to access portal to client. Update team members via email Qualifications include but not limited to: • High School or GED with equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 yrs. of customer service in the insurance industry preferred. College degree preferred. • Valid Property and Casualty License (P&C) and provide copy for file. • Learn and achieve the ability to read policies and break down coverage. • Learn and achieve a good understanding of the appropriate markets and their relative business model. • Possess a sense of urgency and ownership when dealing with clients and prospects of Newtek. • Ability to actively listen, understand the customer's needs (both spoken and implied). • Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information. • Learn to differentiate between agency bill clients and direct bill clients. • Strive to obtain the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency. • Strive to communicate clearly, effectively, and concisely, both orally and in writing with assistance from management. • Keep a strong focus on time management, planning and organization skills. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team. • Gain a good level of knowledge of company products and solutions a plus. • Embrace change with the willingness to continue learning and developing skills. • Collaborate, cooperate, and share knowledge with working relationships. • Strong work ethic. • Flexible to work within the designated work schedule as business needs change (i.e., late night, weekends, holidays, etc.). • Learn and gain a basic knowledge of how to use Agency Management System, experience with AMS360 a plus. • Strong data entry skills with accuracy and ability to navigate among multiple systems. • Gain a level of competency in Windows based computer applications (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Outlook) and internal systems such NewTracker, AMS360, ImageRight, etc The salary range for this position is $45,000 to 55,000 a year.
