Developer (Mid & Sr. Level) - Hybrid

About the position The Programmer position at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona involves performing programming and maintenance on various systems based on customer business requirements. This role may include responsibilities related to SCRUM development, particularly for Programmer II and III levels. Responsibilities • Maintain and develop basic-level systems and programs with assistance from senior programmers. , • Participate in the development, review, and creation of documentation for systems. , • Design and code basic-level systems, programs, and interfaces using structured programming techniques. , • Develop and maintain databases, creating logic and program flows. , • Write and execute unit test plans and track processing issues. , • Participate in small to medium projects and create ad-hoc reports for customers. , • Research and respond to internal customer inquiries and requests for research. , • Review code and systems for design standards and functionality. , • Assist in developing and delivering presentations to staff and management. , • Analyze files and map data between systems. , • Maintain and develop moderately complex systems and programs with assistance. , • Lead medium projects and track processing problems, coordinating with relevant areas. , • Develop processing requirements and conduct post-implementation reviews. , • Create and deliver presentations to staff and management. , • Independently maintain and develop complex systems and programs, leading large projects. , • Mentor and review work for junior programmers and maintain knowledge of new developments in programming. , • Plan and implement large-scale projects using project management methodologies. , • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for software systems and assist in implementing new procedures. , • Review production policies to improve processes and services, and implement quality assurance procedures. Requirements • 1 year of experience in computer/information technology for Level 1; 3 years for Level 2; 5 years for Level 3; 7 years for Level 4. , • 1 year of experience in programming, query design, and database development for Level 2; 3 years for Level 3; 4 years for Level 4. , • 1 year of project management experience for Level 3; 3 years for Level 4. , • High-School Diploma or GED in a general field of study. Nice-to-haves • 1 year of programming, query design, and database development experience for Level 2; 3 years for Level 3; 4 years for Level 4. , • 1 year of project management experience for Level 3; 3 years for Level 4. , • 1 year of supervisory experience for Level 4. , • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, business, or related field. , • Technical certifications in programming languages.
