About the position The Mortgage Loan Originator at Cadence Bank is responsible for originating new mortgage loan business by collaborating with realtors, builders, past clients, and other referral partners. This role involves soliciting business, interviewing loan applicants, processing loan applications, and counseling borrowers on suitable loan programs. The position requires managing a large pipeline of loans while ensuring compliance with bank requirements and maintaining a professional atmosphere within the organization. Responsibilities • Solicit business from potential and existing customers. , • Interview loan applicants and process loan applications for purchase and refinance transactions. , • Counsel borrowers about various loan programs and assist them in selecting the best fit for their financial goals. , • Assist the loan processor in gathering necessary documents for underwriting. , • Work closely with the processor and underwriter to address underwriting issues and ensure loans are closed. , • Manage a large pipeline of loans, meeting closing deadlines and compliance requirements. , • Represent the financial institution in public relations activities and community affairs. Requirements • High school diploma or GED. , • Thorough understanding of all loan programs and closing costs. , • Good understanding of FHA, VA, and conventional underwriting guidelines. , • Ability to meet strict time deadlines and work independently under pressure. , • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow set guidelines. , • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. , • Ability to sell oneself to potential customers and referral partners. Nice-to-haves • Experience in the mortgage industry or related fields. , • Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations.
