Lead Cargo Maintenance Technician - ULD

How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Unit Load Device (ULD) Lead Technician is responsible for on-site supervision and repair of over 22,000 ULDs and 60,000 galley equipment items within Delta’s span of control and system. The lead provides maintenance support and regulatory compliance and partner with equipment vendors for modifications and improvements, ensuring a safe and efficient operation. The Lead will be safety focused and execute these critical duties and skills: • Ensure FAA compliance and adhere to Component Maintenance manuals relative to ULD/Galley Equipment repair. • Ensure the proper use of technical data during the repair process. • Conduct quality control throughout repair processes and perform internal audits while responding to and implementing corrective actions from external audits. • Supervise scrap and disposition of equipment and components that are considered Beyond Economic Repair (BER). • Engage in maintenance tasks and inspecting repairs to ensure equipment is returned to service, in addition to overseeing and coordinating the repair workforce. • Monitor tool calibration schedules and follow established shelf-life management procedures to ensure accuracy and quality standards. • Coordinate, schedule and repair of Galley Equipment and Unit Load Devices • Complete Delta’s TechOps welding certification and engage in the repair of pallets and containers. • Oversee the repair workforce at assigned station and provide temporary support at other repair facilities as needed, which may require travel. • Lead and pursue accomplishment of department and station performance goals. This position is full-time with a starting pay of $61.02 per hour. Eligible Delta employees based in New York City (JFK or LGA) can be reimbursed up to $250 per month for specific transportation expenses incurred while traveling to and from work. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles. • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States. • Must have a valid drivers license. • Must be proficient in English. • Must have an FAA Airframe (A) License. • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and familiarity with the ULD industry. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective business partnerships with outside vendors, contractors, and business partners. • Ability to self-manage effectively, both operationally and strategically. • Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) preferred • Understanding of FAR 121 and 145 repair certifications as it pertains to ULD repair • Prior leadership preferred, such as strong supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills Apply Job!
