Front-end Development Specialist – Legacy Esports Inc. – Chicago, IL

Job title: Front-end Development Specialist Company: Legacy Esports Inc. Job description: The Front-end Development Specialist is a crucial role on our product team, responsible for leveling up our app implementations while prioritizing both UX and polish. We’re on a modern stack, leveraging React 17 and React Native to deploy web and mobile experiences to all our users. You will wear a lot of hats, having a direct role in influencing UX/visual design, programming and technical support while working with external technology vendors and partners. You’ll also educate the Tech team on UI best practices and be our customers’ strongest design advocate. This role will be very hands-on: 80% code and 20% design strategy. Qualifications • You understand how UX and design impact the way people experience the world • You've worked as a member of a team of designers and developers • You're passionate about human-centered problem solving and you tirelessly seek to discover what users really need • You believe that even the most functional experiences never see the light of day if nobody knows how to use them • You have 6+ years of experience with HTML and CSS (Sass is a bonus) • You have 4+ years of experience in React • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills • Exhibit a high level of professionalism • Collaborate and build relationships, both virtually and in-person, with colleagues, stakeholders, and teams across the organization to meet shared objectives • Bonus qualifications • You have 2+ years of experience with React Native or native app development • Deeply understand the competitive gaming experience to drive contextually intuitive solutions Responsibilities • Influence UX and design outcomes across new and existing user experiences • Deliver front-end features on web and mobile applications in coordination with a team of full-stack developers • Participate in code reviews and guide teammates in UI and front-end code best practices About us LeagueSpot is an esports league competition platform that makes it easy to run leagues and tournaments of all shapes and sizes.
