Supervising personnel in the absence of the Head Teller. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Demonstrates core values and guiding principles as outlined in the Bank's Mission, Vision and Value Statements of which the following are illustrative: a. Gives exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers by providing prompt, polite and effective communication. b. Participates as a member of the team. c. Positively and proactively contributes to the Bank's Strategic Plan. d. Demonstrates support of Management. 2. Ensures that all activities and work functions adhere to compliance requirements as are defined in company policies and procedures as well as state/federal laws and regulations. 3. Performs a variety of duties to support the paying and receiving function of the community office of which the following are illustrative: a. Provides customer service by accurately and efficiently completing all deposit, check cashing within approved authority and operating policy and other transactions involving negotiable instruments including cashiers checks, cash advances, new account referrals, etc. b. Accepts utility bill payments as appropriate. c. Accepts loan payments, safe deposit box rent and other related payments. d. Follows dual control. e. Maintains an approved level of cash; turns in excess and mutilated cash. f. Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions; balances cash drawer accurately and efficiently on a daily basis. g. Prepares reports relating to the function, e.g., currency, transaction, BSA reports, etc. h. Maintains supplies and an awareness of Teller supply inventory control. i. Balances general ledger accounts related to the paying and receiving function, e.g., Utilities, Coin, inter-bank accounts, etc. j. Is able to open/close accounts and perform associated computer work. Is knowledgeable of CD products and can assist in issuance and closing of same. k. Will be required to balance and/or service ATM machines. l. Consistently demonstrates positive/welcoming demeanor. 4. Participates in the Jeff Bank's growth initiatives offering referrals and services to new and existing clients: a. Actively serves as a team player involved in achieving branch goals. b. Recommends the best accounts to customers using the sales presentation process and asks for the business. c. Identifies sales opportunities at the teller line and drive-thru and makes professional referrals to other team members. 5. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. 6. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc., including but not limited to BSA & AML (awareness when processing cash deposits, sale of monetary instruments and structured deposits). 7. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel. 8. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. 9. Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Teller(s). 10. Assumes all Head Teller Duties in his/her absence. ANCILLARY DUTIES 1. May be required, on occasion, to provide safe deposit box services to customers. 2. May be required to provide support in nonpaying and receiving activities, e.g., new accounts, loans, etc. 3. May be required to verify and wrap coin for vault cash control purposes. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. JOB LOCATION Each branch office Equipment/Machines 1. Telephone 2. Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, accounting, analytical, and mathematics skills; moderate computer skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing and office machine skills; ability to lift approximately fifty (50) lbs. of coin; demonstrated management and supervisory skills.
