Senior Designer/Developer (SP & PBI experience)

The Senior Designer/Developer (SP & PBI experience) will support the Department of Veterans Affairs by providing technical and programmatic support services to include development, maintenance, enterprise architecture, and administrative engineering support. Duties As a Senior Designer/Developer (SP & PBI experience) supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to lead the delivery of a Federal Agency’s Enterprise Security Architecture and Strategy. In this role, a typical day will include: • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Microsoft Power Platform solutions across SharePoint, Power Pages, Power BI including custom web parts, workflows, and integrations. • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business analytics and decision-making. • Create and maintain design documentation, including wireframes, user stories, and technical specifications. • Utilize advanced Microsoft Power Platform features and capabilities, including SharePoint Framework (SPFx), REST APIs, and Power Automate. • Implement best practices for data modeling, report design, and performance optimization in Power BI. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SharePoint and Power BI environments. • Maintain, enhance and manage existing dashboards and reporting features. • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with business objectives. • Mentor and guide junior developers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve development processes and solutions. • Conduct code reviews, testing, and validation to ensure the quality and reliability of developed solutions. • Implement security and compliance measures in accordance with organizational policies and industry standards. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree • 5 years of relevant experience • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex solutions in Microsoft Power Platform including SharePoint and Power BI • Strong proficiency in SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2019/2016, and SharePoint Designer • Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular is a plus • Experience with SQL Server and data warehousing concepts • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
