Interim Chief Financial Officer: SaaS

Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Industry: SaaS (Software as a Service) Position Overview: East 57th Street Partners is seeking an experienced and results-driven Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on behalf of our private equity-backed client in the SaaS industry. This role is critical for providing strategic financial leadership and operational excellence during a period of transition. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of SaaS business models, private equity environments, and a proven ability to drive financial stability, scalability, and growth. Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s subscription-based business objectives and growth trajectory. • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to provide actionable insights, with a focus on key SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, and churn rates. • Operational Efficiency: Oversee cost optimization strategies, working capital management, and operational improvements to ensure profitability and scalability. • Private Equity Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison with private equity stakeholders, providing transparent reporting and updates on financial performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives. • Revenue Recognition & Accounting: Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards specific to subscription-based revenue models. • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Support due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-transaction integration activities as needed. • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. • Risk Management: Implement and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safeguarding company assets. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA is highly preferred. • Experience: • Minimum 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with prior roles as CFO or Interim CFO in the SaaS industry. • Extensive experience working in private equity-backed environments, with a track record of navigating transitions, turnarounds, or high-growth scenarios. • Strong expertise in financial modeling, cost analysis, and SaaS-specific metrics and KPIs. • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of SaaS business models, subscription-based revenue streams, and the competitive landscape. • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, influence key stakeholders, and drive organizational change. • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in financial systems, SaaS analytics platforms, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel skills. • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
