About the position The Medical Transcriptionist position at Optum involves providing transcription services directly to healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation of medical and clinical information. This role is essential in improving health outcomes by connecting patients with necessary care and resources. The position requires flexibility in working hours and offers comprehensive training to support new employees in their roles. Responsibilities • Transcribe dictated information to produce medical and clinical documents. , • Document SOAP notes and enter diagnoses, ICD 10 codes, and other relevant information. , • Pend prescriptions, lab orders, referrals, and imaging studies for provider approval. , • Input billing, E&M codes, and CPT codes for various medical conditions. , • Assist providers with non-medical inquiries and tasks as needed. , • Prompt providers with appropriate questions regarding patient care and orders. Requirements • High School Diploma / GED , • Must be 18 years or older , • Knowledge of medical terminology , • 1+ years experience as a medical transcriptionist , • Ability to work normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm EST, Monday - Friday.
