Title: Backend Engineer III Location: NYC - Remote... Interview Format: Values/Culture: (Hiring Manager) - 45 minutes Technical Screening: (Senior Engineers) - 1 hour Must-Have: Java, GO, GCP, Dockers, Kubernetes, K8, SCIO We are looking for a motivated Backend Engineer with strong experience in Java and data engineering to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power our applications. Key Responsibilities: • You will combine software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems with a focus on optimizing systems and reducing work through automation • Facilitate collaboration with other engineers, product owners, and designers to tackle exciting and complex problems • Architect, design, develop, deploy and operate Java and Go services following good design and development practices • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle for services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and optimization • Maintain services once they are live through measuring and monitoring • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity Qualifications: • Experience working on a team managing Observability and Reliability tooling. • Familiarity with Prometheus and large-scale time series databases is preferred. • Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on Java development. • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including data modelling and database management. • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Experience or familiarity with Go and k8s operators is preferred. • Excellent communication skills. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. • Understanding of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices. • Apply Job!
