The Loan Assistant assists Loan Officers with making and servicing all varieties of lending products provided by FCB. Provides service to customers and prospective customers.Works in a support capacity to Loan Officers. Location: Madison County, IL Shift: Full-Time; Monday - Friday, Saturdays on rotation PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES & DUTIES: • Explains loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements to customers • Orders credit reports, prepares loan documents and analyzes debt-to-income ratio • Coordinates and conducts loan closings • Reviews loan documents with customers • Obtains customers signature on loan documents • Initiates disbursement of loan proceeds • Services loans in portfolio • Monitors and follows up on loan maturities and renewals • Works with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with FCBs policies and procedures and federal and state regulations • Keeps informed of changing rules and regulations pertaining to private and government insured mortgages • Performs one or more of the following duties as needed: • Closes consumer loans • Completes loan maintenance • Assists with bank customer service • Handles loan customer service for all locations • Assists all loan officers as needed • Prepares certain Board reports • Pulls past-due reports for loan officers • Applies NSF charges for auto direct loan payments • Other duties as assigned by management SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: • Communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation • Attention-to-detail • Decisiveness • Initiative/self-motivation TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge of: • Real estate lending function • Federal and state regulations pertaining to lending Basic knowledge of: • Bank operations, policies and procedures • Bank products and services • Computer system • Operation of office equipment such as copier, fax machine, calculator, etc. Equal access to programs, services and employment opportunities is available to all persons without regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, status, color, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or any other basis protected by federal, state, and/or local law.
