*100% REMOTE** Position - Clinical Document Improvement Specialist... Facility - UCLA Health Extension Gayley Center Location - 1145 Gayley Ave Los Angeles, CA 90024 (100% REMOTE) Shift - Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00) Job Duration - 12 Weeks Pay - $65/hr -$70/hr Required Experience: Must have an RN or MD certification from a US School Minimum 5 years experience as CDS, some or all of which must be with an Academic Medical Center Be able to discuss medical diagnostic topics Be familiar with coding as it relates to documentation Have worked in an EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass (CAC) software environment To better align with our requirements, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: · Consistent job history in CDI with contractor experience · Solid clinical/medical foundation (peferrably someone with acute floor staff nursing experience) · Must have recent experience using 3M CAC 360 and EPIC · Extensive coding/regulatory/compliance knowledge · Strong technical and critical thinking ability · Ability to clearly and fluently articulate and discuss pathophysiology · Must have AMC experience (perferably recent (last 12 months) or current) Skills: Ability to effectively communicate to physician/staff the necessity/appropriateness of clinical documentation. Ability to effectively communicate to the payer the medical necessity/appropriateness /level of care criteria that is necessary for acute care hospitalization. Skills in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. Skill in abstracting and interpreting medical information from patient records. Working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding utilization review and discharge planning functions of government programs such Medicare, Medi-Cal, and CCS. Clinical experience sufficient to understand and communicate medical diagnosis and courses of treatment to professional and non-professional personnel. Immediate knowledge of computer word processing, database programs and ability to write reports and do graphical analysis.
