Lionbridge is seeking self-starting freelance Over-the-Phone Interpreters for Puular, Igbo, Foo Chow, Bambara, Soninke, Fukienese, Quiche, Shuar, Hmong, Dari/Farsi for ongoing interpretation projects across industries such as Legal, Healthcare and Government. Over-the-Phone Interpreters for Lionbridge are responsible for handling calls on demand to correctly identify and provide meaning... in conversations between speakers of two different languages. The world’s largest and most influential companies rely on Lionbridge to provide two-way interpretation services in over 350 languages. What You Will Do
- Accept and take ownership of on-demand incoming calls and conversations
- Identify the meaning of conversations across two different language while remaining current, courteous, and professional on sensitive subjects across differing cultures and locations
- Receive projects typically presented in the from of three-way calls, lasting roughly 10-30 minutes each during regular US business hours
- Receive training on and use appropriate industry terminology, displaying common industry procedures and practices
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Advanced abilities in two or more languages (spoken)
- Exceptional memory retention, note-taking, and communication skills in the appropriate language(s)
- The ability to complete and pass a language assessment in the languages you will be assigned to
- Prior experience in Interpretation or Language Services is a plus, but not required
